Batteries are one of the most expensive parts of a fishing rig, and the marketing around them is confusing. We cut through it with plain explanations, specifications taken straight from manufacturers and authorized dealers, and runtime math you can check for yourself.

What we do and don't do
Every spec we publish comes from a manufacturer or authorized-dealer page we've opened, and each guide lists its sources and the month we checked them. Runtime figures are estimates from our calculator, and we label them that way. We haven't bench-tested the batteries we recommend. If we start hands-on testing, we'll publish the method and mark which results are our own measurements.
